May Al Badi from Abu Dhabi formed a close relationship with Elli Kriel from South Africa, as a result of the Abraham Accords in 2020. The relationship between the two was further strengthened when May fully immersed herself in Jewish culture.

The positive cultural exchange led to the two collaborating on cuisine that blends Jewish and Emirati culinary traditions.
